LaGrangeville, NY – John J. Basso of Basso Law has been named by Super Lawyers as one of the top trial attorneys in upstate New York for the third year in a row. Of the thousands of attorneys practicing law in New York State, only five percent are honored by this Super Lawyers’ distinction.

For over 26 years, John Basso has had some of the largest personal injury and medical malpractice jury verdicts and settlements in the Hudson Valley, approaching each case with a dedication to the highest standards of his profession. A graduate of the highly esteemed Hobart College where he received not only an excellent liberal arts education but made history as a member of the first National Championship College Lacrosse Team, he went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from historic Brooklyn Law School. A former president of the Dutchess County Bar Association and current member of the exclusive American Board of Trial Advocates, he is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey State Bars, as well as New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Federal Bars. Given his experience and reputation, Mr. Basso has been appointed to two select committees for Dutchess County and New York State, to interview, screen, and recommend candidates for judicial appointment and election. Consistently active in the community, he is a member of the Arlington Central School District Board of Education. Having coached the Arlington High School Lacrosse Team for over 10 years, in addition to being the founder and president of the LaGrange youth lacrosse club, he now concentrates on the administration of a youth program for boys and girls. As host of the cable TV show, The Law and Your Money, which reaches over half a million viewers each week, he has offered valuable advice on a full range of riveting topics since 1997.

Mr. Basso’s primary areas of practice include trial of catastrophic and complex personal injury matters including medical malpractice. He also has a criminal defense practice specifically geared toward representing individuals charged with DWI and other criminal matters.
