  The plaintiff was struck on a Dutchess County, New York portion of the Taconic Parkway by an elderly driver who pulled out from a median. She suffered leg injuries resulting in numerous operations ultimately requiring artificial knee replacement, as well as plates and screws in her arm.

Her husband, a passenger, was also injured and passed away several months later due to unrelated causes.
